Christ will return on the clouds. He will be surrounded by angels, seated on the throne of His glory. Not a dream, not symbolism. But reality, just as He Himself describes in the parable of Matthew 25. Then all the nations will be gathered before Him. And He will separate them. Natuurrampen. Ziekte. Vervolging. Liefde die verkilt. Het klinkt als de krantenkoppen van vandaag. Toch sprak Jezus deze woorden al tweeduizend jaar geleden. In Mattheüs 24 waarschuwt Hij: “Laat je niet misleiden. Word niet verschrikt. Al deze dingen moeten gebeuren, maar het is nog niet het einde.” Maar het einde zal komen. Christus zal terugkomen op de wolken. Hij zal omringd worden door engelen, zittend op de troon van Zijn heerlijkheid. Geen droombeeld, geen symboliek.
