031 RIC Bijbelse Artikelen Zoekend leven - 1 Kronieken 16:11  22-05-2025 Klik hier om te luisteren 1 Kronieken 16:11 ‘Vraag naar de HEERE en Zijn kracht, zoek Zijn aangezicht voortdurend.’  Lieve lezer,  Vandaag staan we stil bij een loflied van David, opgeschreven in het Bijbelboek 1 Kronieken, hoofdstuk 16:8–36. Deze psalm werd gezongen ter ere van de HEERE en werd toevertrouwd aan Asaf en zijn broeders om dag in, dag uit lof aan God te brengen. Als kernvers bij deze overdenking heb ik gekozen voor vers 11: ‘Vraag naar de HEERE en Zijn kracht, zoek Zijn aangezicht voortdurend.’ De aanleiding voor deze lofzang was bijzonder: Israël bracht de ark van het verbond, het symbool van Gods aanwezigheid, Jeruzalem binnen. Offers werden gebracht, het volk werd gezegend en Levieten werden aangesteld om Gods Naam te eren. Alles stond in het teken van dankbaarheid, aanbidding en herinnering aan Gods daden. Maar Hij zei: Veeleer zijn zij zalig die het Woord van God horen en het bewaren. Lieve lezer,  Terwijl Jezus onderwijst over het Koninkrijk van God, gebeurt er iets opmerkelijks. Een vrouw uit de menigte roept spontaan: “Zalig is de buik die U gedragen heeft, en zijn de borsten waaraan U gezogen hebt!” Hoewel ze Jezus bewondert, is het Maria die ze als eerste prijst met haar woorden. Ze verwoordt wat velen denken: wat een eer moet het zijn geweest om de moeder van zo’n Zoon te zijn. Toch grijpt Jezus dit moment aan om een diepere waarheid naar voren te brengen. Greetings, precious soul,  Many people struggle with the question: what does God want from me? Some think of great achievements or heavy sacrifices, as if they have to earn something. But the Bible is clear: God’s grace cannot be earned. He Himself has provided atonement through Jesus Christ. So, what does God ask? Micah 6:8 gives a clear answer. There is nothing hidden or mysterious. God asks us to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with Him. It is not about a checklist of separate actions, but a lifestyle flowing from a relationship with God. En wat vraagt de HEERE van u anders dan recht te doen, goedertierenheid lief te hebben en ootmoedig te wandelen met uw God. Lieve lezer,  Veel mensen worstelen met de vraag: wat wil God van mij? Sommigen denken aan grote prestaties of zware offers, alsof ze iets moeten verdienen. Maar de Bijbel is duidelijk: Gods genade is niet te verdienen. Hij heeft zelf voorzien in verzoening door Jezus Christus. En wat vraagt God dan wel? Micha 6:8 geeft een helder antwoord. Er is niets verborgen of geheimzinnig. God vraagt om recht te doen, om trouw lief te hebben en om nederig met Hem te wandelen. Het gaat niet om een lijst losse daden, maar om een levensstijl die voortkomt uit verbondenheid met God.
